[Nagoya] After the Eyewear Shop, a Coffee Shop? PHOLUS Tour Round Two Decided!

Our 15th anniversary PHOLUS national order tour got off to the best possible start in Fukuoka, thanks to such warm customers. Carrying that energy forward, the tour is now heading to its next city.

"Next up is your city."

That's how we closed things off last time, and the venue for round two has finally been decided.
Next stop: Nagoya.

And once again, the deciding factor for the venue was a recommendation from one of our Instagram followers.

"If it's Nagoya, this is definitely the place," we were told — pointing us to Kissa 7-ban, in Nishiki 2-chome, Naka Ward. It's because you all share the places you cherish that this tour becomes something special. Thank you so much for such a wonderful recommendation.

A Town's "Kaisho" Reborn in a New Form

Chojamachi Textile District, home to Kissa 7-ban, is a historic area that once thrived as one of Japan's three great textile wholesale districts.

In this same Nishiki 2-chome, it's said there were once several "kaisho" — community spaces going back to the Edo period, where locals would gather and relax.

In 2022, one of these historic, come-as-you-are spaces was reborn as a new kind of community hub, complete with a cafe and rental space: this is Kissa 7-ban. All kinds of people, from the neighborhood and beyond, gather here — a true local hub.

We recently had the chance to talk with representative Mr. Abe and manager Mr. Koba, and they welcomed our 15th anniversary project very warmly.

What surprised us most talking with them was just how strong Nagoya's "morning culture" is.
At Kissa 7-ban, close to 100 customers visit during the morning hours alone, every single day. We could really feel, from that story and from the way the place is woven into daily life and loved by the neighborhood, exactly why our follower gave it such a strong recommendation.

So this time, we'll be holding the event a little after that lively morning rush — from 12:00 noon to 18:00 in the evening.

But wait!

Since we're in Nagoya, we'd love for everyone to enjoy the famous morning set at an authentic "kaisho" before the event even begins.

Honestly, I'm probably the one most looking forward to it myself (laughs). Waking up a little early, savoring the best morning set at Kissa 7-ban, and then leisurely browsing shoes in the afternoon — doesn't that sound like a lovely way to spend a weekend?

Chatting with you all about shoes in an open space filled with the aroma of good coffee — just imagining it, I already have a feeling these will be three wonderful days.

As with the Fukuoka event, we'll be taking time with each and every guest in our limited space to carefully propose the best fitting for you.
